Contribute: Change

In March 2007, Schenkein purchased a retired parking meter to support Denver's Donation Meter Project, Contribute: Change. The meters are sponsored by local businesses, each of which donates $1,000 for a yearlong sponsorship. The mission of this project is to encourage Denver citizens to donate spare change to the retired meters scattered across downtown Denver, as opposed to giving directly to panhandlers. One hundred percent of the funds collected, through both sponsorships and change donations, will be contributed to Denver's Road Home, in support of Mayor Hickenlooper's 10-year plan to end homelessness.
